HOW ACHIEVING GREAT SUCCESS TOO FAST CAN RUIN YOU

We all want to achieve our biggest goals?

The question is “are you ready for the impact?” I am referring to the impact of #success. If you don’t have your life in basic order, you will be rocked to very foundation.

Lottery winners come to mind right now. About 70 percent of them go bankrupt within five years. I know that gambling to win the lottery is not a worthy goal…at least not for me.

But, what about the #goals you have invested so much time and money in?

It should always be a joy when we get on the other side of our goals, but we take the risk of minimizing or totally eliminating our impact when we are not ready.

  1. If we don’t build our house upon a rock, our rewards will be short-lived.
  2. We may still feel dissatisfied after achieving the goal, because it may have been the wrong goal all along.

No need to be dismay. Take time to assess your life and make sure you’re setting the right foundation. The beauty of setting goals is that they are always flexible.

It takes time to get clarity of our life #vision and now I work with others to help them do the work to activate, create, and execute their dreams in life and in their businesses.

HOW DOES YOUR “HUNGRY” SHOW?

My husband and I coach and manage a U16 (under 16) soccer team, since our son is in love with the game. We use this opportunity not only to help our son grow technically and physically, but also as a mission field, to cultivate in him a heart for others.

The majority of our players are from low income households. Their parents are not able to take them to practice or to contribute financially.

We stepped up to give a few of these young boys something constructive to do as well as a safe environment to be in even if it is just for a few hours per week.

We chose our players based on a few simple questions:

  1. Do you want to play?
  2. Will you show up to every practice?
  3. Will you do everything necessary to win?

We are investing a lot of time and money, so we wanted to be good stewards. We also know that “you can lead a horse to water, but you cannot make him drink it.” So, we wanted to see #vision and #drive.

Needless to say the kids who answer “whenever I can,” to will you show up to every practice did not make the team.

Are you really hungry for #success? How does that hunger show in your everyday language and practice?
